These days I wonder
Where did my heart go?
Where did my empathy go?
Where did my faith go?
When did this attitude of selfishness, coarseness come from?
When did I turn into this person?
When did my caring die?
When did every thought turn into me?
Where did my selflessness go?

When did I become this person?
When did I start to make excuses?
When did I start apologizing just to make me seem better?
When did I turn into this person?

Where did my heart go?
When did I become the kind of person I'd like to hit?
When did I get so violent?
When did I get so coarse and cruel?
When did I get so ignorant?

When did I lose it?
When did I stop caring?
When did I become all about me?
When did I drain my friendships of substance?

When did my fiction become more important than real life?
When did I stop caring?
When did I become this person?

How could I start a new year as this person?
How could I think about those things?
How come God still forgives me?
Still wants me, still loves me?

How could anyone if they really knew every thought within me?
How is it possible?


Somehow, it is,
He tells me
Somehow, God still loves me.
Somehow, the incredible people
He's placed in my life
Still love me.

Somehow.
God knows me, all of me, and still loves me.
Love you. Loves all of us.
No matter what.

All I know,
Is that my life must be realigned,
Maybe it will be painful,
But my life must be changed.
My dreams, my goals, my passions,
Should all be His.
All of me.
I won't be missing,
I won't be someone I don't know, someone I'd love to hate,
Anymore.
Because of His love, and His grace.

To the Ones Who want to Reach the Hurting

Hey Mark,
And anyone else,
Who knows what I'm saying.


When you're watching
Your friends' hearts breaking
Hurting, pain, tears,
Anger,
Screaming, bitterness,
Pray for them, hope for healing, pray for healing.
Trust.

When you're watching,
Families ripped apart,
Even if its your own,
Don't give up hope.
Don't carry anything on your own.
You don't need to.

When they need
Someone to hold them,
Be there
With open arms.

Try not
To give advice
At a bad time.
Listen to them,
Be supportive,
No matter what.
Help them,
To make the right decision.
To go farther,
Past the pain.
But know,
As much as it stings,
And burns,
That you do not make their decisions.
That you cannot make them change,
Or make their situations change entirely.

Pray, pray for their lives,
Their hearts,
Families, their friends.
Time may not heal, but God truly does.
All scars can be gone,
And tears wiped away.

Don't lose faith, or hope,
Don't look at them so hopelessly.
Know that you
And they
Have it.

Love them infinitely, unconditionally,
Love them like the Lord does us.

Know you're not alone,
In caring for these broken people,
In our broken world.
We are broken too,
But Jesus makes us whole,
We are hurting too,
But I do not feel hopeless.

Give them love,
Be kind, caring, unconditionally loving,
Speak the words that need to be spoken.
No one is alone.

Things for me never to forget

The Lord is always there for us.

He made the world, he loves us, he loves me.

You don't have to tell everyone what they want to hear just to make them happy.

Don't put yourself before others.

Sacrifice yourself ONLY for God.

Do not give up everything to keep everyone else okay.

Don't fake it because you're upset and make everything worse.

Don't make huge lies that always get found out and always be honest.

Be honest, but not rude.

Ask God for guidance in EVERYTHING.

Pray for everyone every night.

Prayer is the most powerful weapon.

"Love Thy neighbor as thy self."
